Aktion Club of Bartholomew County

Aktion Club allows adults living with disabilities to participate in community service projects, gain leadership skills and become more involved in society. The mission of Aktion Club is:

  • to provide adults living with disabilities an opportunity to develop initiative and leadership skills
  • to serve their community
  • to be integrated into society
  • to demonstrate the dignity and value of citizens living with disabilities

Meridian Kiwanis sponsors the largest Aktion club in the WORLD.

The Aktion Club of Columbus was chartered in 2011 as the largest Aktion Club ever established with more than 70 members.  The Aktion Club meets monthly at the Arc of Bartholomew County, our co-sponsor, and has sponsored the Buddy Walk, sings Christmas Carols each year over Christmas vacation at local Nursing Homes, and has planted and maintained their own garden since 2012.  They sponsor a Dance for individuals with disabilities and give the proceeds to Love Chapel, our local food pantry.  They also prepare and hand deliver Valentines to the Indiana State Legislature each year in February.

If you, or someone you know, would enjoy participating or working with our Aktion Club, we would welcome hearing from you via our contact form.
